UPC-A barcode guide

What is a UPC-A barcode?

UPC-A is a 12-digit retail barcode commonly used for products sold in North America. It is designed for checkout scanning, retail packaging, product labels and marketplace workflows that require a UPC or GTIN.

Do not use a random UPC-A number for real retail packaging. Most retailers and marketplaces require a valid UPC or GTIN assigned by GS1 or another accepted product numbering source.
