Should I use CSV or Excel for bulk barcode generation?
Compare CSV and XLSX imports for product, inventory and serial-number label batches.
Both formats produce the same barcodes after their columns are mapped. CSV is smaller and easier to export from inventory systems, while Excel preserves a familiar workbook workflow and is convenient for manual review. Keep one item per row, include a clear header for the barcode value and preserve leading zeroes as text.
